Greetings from Mount Carmel Guild on this very snowy day! Hope you are keeping warm as well as staying safe and healthy. Thank you for the many, many ways you contribute to our Community Support and Home Health Nursing programs. We could not serve our community without you! Below is a short update about what has been and will be happening at the Guild in the new year.
With thanks,
Mary Inkrot Executive Director
Community Support
From November-January, families with school-aged children had the opportunity to receive special food bags in addition to what is routinely available at the pantry. These extra bags contained healthy and kid-friendly food for breakfast (cereal bars and bananas), lunch (sandwich bread, deli meat and cheese) and dinner (meatball sub kit, lettuce, onions and salad dressing.) A Strike Out Hunger grant from the United Way of Greater Mercer County and a gift from the Kiwanis Club of Ewing made the project possible.
New kids' winter coats were also available to our families thanks to donations from the Knights of Columbus, St. Gregory the Great and St. David the King councils.

Because most of our elderly patients do not use the internet, we welcomed the opening of New Jersey’s COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center last week. The Guild is making sure all our patients and their families are receiving this information. We are sharing it with our food pantry care receivers and with you in case you know someone who would benefit.
New Jersey’s COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center Toll-free number is 855-568-0545. The call center is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and offers assistance with:
• Registering with the New Jersey Vaccine Scheduling System (NJVSS) • Identifying whether they are currently eligible for a vaccination • Identifying vaccination locations • General questions about vaccines • Help scheduling an appointment if currently eligible
Thank you for keeping our pantry stocked! Many local churches are offering "Souper" Bowl Drives, asking for all kinds of soup and crackers. Others are gearing up for Lenten Food Drives for items such as tuna and mayonnaise. Check our website for drop off locations.
